Certification Requirements

• Original ACRO Police Certificate:
  
  The original ACRO Police Certificate does not require additional certification, provided it includes a wet ink signature and date from the issuing authority.
• Unsigned Certificates:

If the original ACRO Police Certificate has not been signed by an official of the issuing authority, it must either:

• be certified by a UK solicitor or notary public before it can be apostilled, or
• be returned to ACRO to obtain the required signature.

Original Document

• The apostille will be applied directly to the original ACRO
  Police Certificate.

Not Eligible for E-Apostille

• ACRO Police Certificates must undergo the physical apostille process and are not eligible for electronic apostille (e-apostille).

Only original certificates issued by ACRO are accepted.

Ensure the certificate is less than six months old, as some countries may reject older documents.

Some countries may also require a certified translation and embassy legalisation after apostille. Always check the destination country’s requirements.
